QUT visual arts graduates are at the heart of innovative artist-run galleries across Brisbane. Our students have developed exciting experimental art spaces such as Box copy Contemporary Art Space and LEVEL ARI, and have also been the recipients of the prestigious Sam stag Scholarships, Australia, Council and Arts Queensland awards, art prizes such as the Queensland Premier is New Media Award and the Qantas Spirit of Youth Award, as well as the German DAAD scholarship and numerous international studio residencies.
Whether you are planning to become a professional artist, teacher or art professional such as an exhibition curator or arts manager, you will benefit from substantial studio experience while receiving training in your specialist area.
You can combine your studio training with study areas such as interactive and visual design, event management, entrepreneurship or business to equip you for a range of creative careers.
Many of our graduates become highly successful practising artists, represented by commercial galleries, and with strong careers in the commissioned and public funding sectors. Graduates also pursue professional careers as curators, program officers or arts managers and are often employed by prestigious galleries and museums both in Australia and internationally.
With specialist training in a related field, our graduates also take up positions as creative directors, visual designers and a range of other occupations in the creative industries sector.

Applicants must have an aggregate score of 26-39. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) score of 64; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 58; Cambridge English : Proficiency (CPE) overall grade C1.
Students must have completed successful portfolio and interview. They must have sound knowledge in the area of English. They must have knowledge equivalent four semesters at high school level (Years 11 and 12) with sound achievement (English (4, SA).
English Language Requirements:
Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) overall score is 64 and no sub-score less than 58, Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) overall score is 58, Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) overall Grade is C1. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Australia.
