The Master of Veterinary Studies offers peerless flexibility for the animal and veterinary sciences student who knows what they want. The program is build-your-own-degree structure allows you to tailor make your course by mixing and matching subjects offered in postgraduate programs within Veterinary Science and from other faculties.
A capstone experience comprises one or more units of study designed by the faculty to provide students with an opportunity to draw together the learning that has taken place during the award, synthesise this with their prior learning and experience, and draw conclusions that will form the basis for further investigation, and intellectual and/or professional growth. For the Master of Veterinary Studies all students complete a 6 to 24 credit point research project as a capstone experience.
The Veterinary Studies postgraduate courses at the University of Sydney are designed to equip veterinary scientists with disciplinary knowledge and applied skills and techniques. Students select units of study to best suit their individual career and/or research goals and this will lead to career opportunities in the area of study selected. A successful applicant for admission to the Master in Veterinary Studies will:
(a) hold a bachelor is degree (with Honours) or higher award with a minimum credit average from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification, in veterinary science or animal science; or (b) have completed requirements of an embedded graduate certificate or graduate diploma in this discipline from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification.
English language requirements: TOEFL paper-based: A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 5.0 in Writing TOEFL IBT: including a minimum result of 20 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 22 in Writing
