Courses Overview

What will I learn?
You will build on your existing knowledge of exercise science. Through coursework and clinical learning in the core areas of physiotherapy practice, you will develop the advanced clinical science and physiotherapy skills and knowledge needed for entry-level clinical physiotherapy practice. You will also develop an understanding of research principles and methods applicable to professional physiotherapy practice. You will learn how to use current research findings and your clinical reasoning and decision making skills to apply creativity and initiative to new situations in professional practice.
My career opportunities
Physiotherapists find work in hospitals, private practices, the defence force, aged care facilities, community health, schools and sporting teams, both domestically and internationally. You may also be employed in research or teaching positions, or as a consultant to industry and government bodies.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Applicants must hold any Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale). English Language Requirements accepted: A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0; an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19); a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL; or no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only);or Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Minimum grade of C on the or a Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Minimum grade of C on the or Pearson Test of English (Academic): Overall score of 58 with no score less than 50.


Entry Requirement For International Student

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Physiotherapy, the following criteria will apply:
Graduates who have completed one of the following programs with a minimum GPA of 5.0 will be guaranteed entry:
Bachelor of Exercise Science (1344)
Bachelor of Exercise Science {Pre-Physiotherapy} (1171).
Graduates who have completed one of the following programs may be eligible for entry. Selection will be based upon (1) academic merit and (2) interview as places are limited:
Bachelor of Exercise Science (1344) with a GPA of less than 5.0
OR Bachelor of Exercise Science {Pre-Physiotherapy} (1171) with a GPA of less than 5.0
OR Bachelor of Exercise Science {Exercise Science} (1171)
OR Bachelor of Exercise Science/Bachelor of Business (1420)
OR Bachelor of Exercise Science/Bachelor of Psychological Science (1421)
OR an equivalent degree from an Australian university or equivalent overseas institution.
English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:
A minimum score of 580 on TOEFL
OR no score less than 4 in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
OR a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).
