What will I learn?
This six-year combined degree will provide an excellent foundation for a career in law or engineering. Your engineering studies will emphasise the practical aspects of science, while your law studies will focus on the interpretation and application of the legal system. You can combine any of the engineering streams with a Bachelor of Laws.
For Law: First year: Foundations of law, legal research I, torts. Second year: Civil and criminal procedure, contracts, criminal law. Third year: Torts and contracts II, legal research II, public international law, public law. Fourth year: Administrative law, corporations law, equity, evidence, federal constitutional law, introduction to property and commercial law, real property and the legal profession. Final year: Private international law A and seven elective units of study.
For Law: solicitor, barrister, magistrate, judge. Non legal: diplomacy, foreign affairs, human rights, international relations, investment banking, journalism, management consultancy, public policy.

English Language Requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0; TOEFL Paper based score of 565; TOEFL IBT: 85; PTE Academic score of 61; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): 58; Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 45; Cambridge English scale: CAE and CPE: 176.
Admission to this course is on the basis of a secondary school leaving qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), tertiary study or an approved preparation program. English language requirements: IELTS with a minimum result of 7.5 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band; TOEFL IBT with a minimum result of 110 overall including a minimum result of 24 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing. They must have assumed knowledge in HSC mathematics extension 1, physics and chemistry.
