What will I learn?
The aim of the Master of Advanced Safety Science Practice is to provide you with the opportunity to further develop your safety science related knowledge, analysis and research skills in a way that will enable you to lead and manage specific complex safety environments.
Specializations
You have opportunity to choose two advanced specializations areas as study options including:

Risk Engineering: Completing one your specializations in Risk Engineering will provide you with an opportunity to explore advanced level quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methods and tools that complement engineered environments, for example, process engineering and other major hazardous facilities.
Human Factors Engineering: Choosing Human Factors Engineering as a specialization it will enable you to explore advanced level concepts related to socio-technical systems design. This major specifically seeks to prepare you to optimize the relationship and integration between humans and other elements of a system.
Accident Forensics: Completing a specialization in Accident Forensics will provide you with comprehensive learning in relation to accident investigation and forensics and enable you to study further specializations in specific investigation domains post your Master's degree.
Transport Safety Management: A specialization in Transport Safety Management will provide you with an opportunity to explore the safety management of operational environments related to transport.
Emergency Services Safety Management: This will be of particular interest and value to those with a background in the emergency services, for example, fire, SES, police or paramedical science, and will fill an important need in the emergency services industry.
Accident investigation related specializations
Air Safety Investigation: This specialization will provide comprehensive coverage of the aviation operational context, regulatory framework, advanced level human factors, forensic and analytical methods and technologies used within the aviation industry to prepare you for accident investigation practice within that domain.
Road Safety Investigation: This specialization will provide comprehensive coverage of the road operational context, regulatory framework, advanced level human factors, forensic and analytical methods and technologies used within the road industry to prepare you for accident investigation practice within that domain.
Rail Safety Investigation: This specialization will provide comprehensive coverage of the rail operational context, regulatory framework, advanced level human factors, forensic and analytical methods and technologies used within the rail industry to prepare you for accident investigation practice within that domain.
Industrial Accident Investigation: This specialization will provide comprehensive coverage of the diverse industrial operations contexts, regulatory frameworks, advanced level human factors, forensic and analytical methods and technologies used within industry to prepare you for accident investigation practice within that domain.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Applicants must have a successfully completed the equivalent of an Australian undergraduate degree. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) score of 62 with no score less than 54; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English Overall test score of 176 (with no individual band score of less than 169).


Entry Requirement For International Student

Students must have successful completion of a bachelor is degree with the equivalent of an Australian pass grade average in the final two terms, from a recognised Higher Education institution.
Other English language requirements: IELTS Academic - 6.0 with no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-based - Overall score of 75 with no score less than 17; Pearson Test of English Academic - Overall score of 50 with no score less than 42.
