The Master of Business Degree by Research is a course of supervised research and study leading to the submission of a thesis which makes a contribution to knowledge.
The Master of Business (Research) is a course of supervised research and study leading to the submission of a thesis which makes a contribution to knowledge. The course is governed by the Research Higher Degree Course Rules Policy and Procedure, which provide details regarding all aspects of admission, progression, submission and examination of the thesis. Consultation with the university will assist you to determine eligibility for admission, to identify the proposed areas of research and to ascertain the availability of suitable supervisors.
To complete the course, a candidate will normally study for an expected period of two years (full-time) or four years (part-time). New applicants may apply at any time of the year and continuing candidates will be re-enrolled at the beginning of each academic year. The research units in which masters candidates enrol are ungraded. Candidates who may be required to complete prescribed units will be enrolled in a separate course (CP20).
A higher degree by research is usually required for an academic career or a professional career in research. Many other discipline-specific employment opportunities exist as employers recognize the skills developed through a degree by research course are widely applicable in the workplace.

Applicants must have a successfully completed the equivalent of an Australian undergraduate degree. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) score of 62 with no score less than 54; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English Overall test score of 176 (with no individual band score of less than 169).
Students must hold an honours degree or a bachelor is degree at a high level of academic performance in a relevant discipline.
Other English language requirements: PTE Academic - Overall score of 54 with no score less than 46; CAE, CPE - Overall test score of 169 (with no individual band score of less than 154); TOEFL Internet-Based - Overall score of 75 with no score less than 17; Minimum academic IELTS score of 6.5 with no individual band score of less than 6.0.
