Courses Overview

What will I learn?
Our department has a broad scientific approach to understanding human biology and behavior, both past and present that is grounded in ecological and evolutionary theory. The graduate program provides rigorous coursework with a rich combination of hands-on field and laboratory research experiences. Students work closely with a faculty advisor who helps them pursue fellowships/grants and to develop collaborative research projects.
Active areas of research by our 15 anthropology faculty include:
Cultural anthropology: human behavioral ecology, Cultural Revolution, medical anthropology, and bio cultural anthropology with regional foci in Amazonia, Canada, Caribbean, and South Asia
Biological anthropology: skeletal biology, functional anatomy, human osteology, Neanderthals, demography, epidemiology, life history, and primate genetics
Archaeology: archaeological theory, evolutionary archaeology, zoo archaeology, litchi artifact analysis, ceramic analysis, and material sourcing studies with regional foci in the American Southwest, Mississippi River valley, and Pacific Northwest.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

All applicants must have a U.S. bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree from a college or university recognized by a regional accrediting agency. English Language Requirements:  550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL or 6.5 on the Academic IELTS. In addition, it is expected that applicants will achieve subsection minimums of no less than 17 on IBT, 52 on PBT or 6.0 on IELTS.

Entry Requirement For International Student

All applicants must have completed master degree from an accredited institution, Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree from a college or university recognized by a regional accrediting agency.
Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL Paper-based - 550 (Total Score), Reading - 52, Listening - 52, Writing - 52.

Full Time (Minimum of 72 hours of graduate credit)

RM 44,620 for the entire course. 1st payment: 7,180; RM 14,040 for 1st and 2nd year; RM 9,360 for 3rd year.
