The Master of Medical Imaging Science provides an entry pathway to a research higher degree, e.g. Master of Applied Science or Doctor of Philosophy, for students with a distinction average grade and the completion of appropriate research electives and investigative project.

Admission to candidature for the Master of Medical Imaging Science requires:
• A master is degree in Medical Radiation Sciences or
• A pass bachelor is degree with a credit average, or an honours bachelor is degree from the University of Sydney, in Medical Radiation Sciences or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent; or
• Completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma or graduate certificate in this discipline, or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent.
English language requirements: TOEFL paper-based: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing TOEFL IBT: including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
