Courses Overview

What will I learn?
Specialise in either one or two teaching areas at secondary education level, depending on your areas of interest. If your ambition is to teach science, mathematics or languages, you can study one of these as a `double method i teaching area, and you won it need to study a second area. Alternatively you can choose to study two `single method i teaching areas, potentially broadening your future employment options.
Progression rules
Candidates must successfully complete each unit of study to meet the course requirements and graduate with a teaching qualification. Except with the permission of the Dean, a candidate must complete all unit of study requirements specified for each year, before proceeding to the next year. Candidates must complete a minimum of 72 credit points in Education before completing the Internship and the Action Research Project and Conference in the final semester of the degree.

English Language Requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0; TOEFL Paper based score of 565; TOEFL IBT: 85; PTE Academic score of 61; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): 58; Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 45; Cambridge English scale: CAE and CPE: 176.

Entry Requirement For International Student

Admission to candidature requires: (a) a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; and (b) completion of the teaching area specialisation requirements specified by the Faculty; and (c) completion of any additional qualifying courses prescribed by the Faculty. In exceptional circumstances, the Dean may admit applicants without these qualifications who in the opinion of the Faculty have qualifications and evidence of experience and achievement sufficient to successfully undertake the award. English language requirements: TOEFL paper-based: A minimum result of 615 overall including a minimum result of 5.0 in Writing TOEFL IBT: including a minimum result of 23 in Reading and 25 in Writing and 27 in Listening and Speaking
