Courses Overview

What will I learn?
This course is designed to enable students to acquire a broad understanding of the legal system, legal processes and some areas of the law. Students will be able to choose from a wide range of elective units, consistent with their particular areas of interest. The Diploma will be suitable for those who wish to acquire a general understanding of the law and legal principles, and some specialised knowledge, consistent with their employment or other needs. Upon completion of the Diploma, graduates may seek admission to the Bachelor of Laws degree with full credit for units completed under the Diploma program.
This flexible programmed is also suitable for internationally qualified lawyers who need to complete some Australian units in order to qualify for admission to legal practice in Australia.
This course can also be studied in external mode. External students receive on-line learning materials including recordings of all lectures, as well as on-line tutorial assistance via the online learning platform, enabling them to complete the course anywhere in the world.

Course Structure
One core unit and a minimum of seven units selected from a range of elective units.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless indicated.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Students must have a 4 year Bachelors/Cu Nhan or Bang T?t Nghiep Dai Hoc with an average of '7' on a 10 point scale or '12' on a 20 point scale (a 'B' Average) and they must have a minimum score of 550 or higher on TOEFL (paper-based).


Entry Requirement For International Student

Applicants must hold a qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12.
Other English Language Requirements:
IELTS Academic module minimum overall score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) minimum overall score of 165; Navitas Academic English - an overall pass of 60% in Academic English 2; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module minimum overall score of 42 with no less than 36 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking; TOEFL (iBT) minimum overall score of 46 with a minimum writing score of 21.
