Courses Overview

What will I learn?
The Master of Education (International) is an innovative course encompassing international education, education policy, higher education, vocational education, literacy and language, English language teaching in Asia, educational leadership, Indigenous education and digital technologies and learning.
It is aimed at meeting the professional development needs of education policy makers, practitioners and researchers working across Australia and in the Asia-Pacific region, in areas such as (but not limited to) teacher education, higher education, community development, schooling, education for all, and technical and vocational education and training.
This course responds to the need for professional capabilities such as analytical thinking, collaborative learning, project management, and transformative practices in global and local settings. Students are involved in an active self-managed learning experience that integrates opportunities to blend theory and practice in response to current and future paid and unpaid work contexts. Students are encouraged to customize their program to meet personal, organizational workplace and community demands. Students can choose from a range of units including a selection of designated units in assessment, teaching and learning and leadership, an internship in a local or international agency or a small thesis which provides skills and capabilities for future higher degree research study.
Course Structure
This course uses an innovative delivery system that focuses on the development of research skills acquisition within a course work structure. It includes combinations of online learning, seminars, intensive programs and a range of project work options to deliver unit material. Students have the option for a systematic investigation of a core area of research interest that may stem from their own interests, or from the organisational or community based contexts they work in. Units have been designed so that this research focus can be sustained across all core and specialist elective units and project work.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless indicated.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

The minimum academic requirements for admission to a postgraduate or graduate entry degree is the completion of a bachelor's degree which is deemed equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree by the University's qualification assessment references. Applicants may also be required to satisfy specific course requirements such as a minimum overall grade score, prerequisite knowledge or work experience. Applicants must have successfully completed the equivalent of an Australian honours degree or master's degree. Other English language requirements accepted: Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) - A minimum overall score of 176 with no skill below 169 or Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module - A minimum overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50.


Entry Requirement For International Student

Successful completion of:
a) A recognized four-year degree in a field related to education; or
b) A recognized three-year degree plus a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Honors degree of which at least one must be in a field related to education; or
c) A qualification or qualifications deemed as being equivalent to the above.
All applicants must have a minimum of one-year full time workplace experience in an occupation related to the field of education.
Other English Language Requirements:
Australian Technology and Management College (ATMC) - Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Students will be required to sit an exit test on completion and achieve a score equivalent to IELTS overall 6.5; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) minimum overall score of 176 with no skill below 169; Common European Framework Certificate of English Proficiency minimum overall grade of C1 valid for three years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU; Navitas Academic English - a minimum overall pass of 65% in Academic English 3 with a 65% pass in the research essay; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module minimum overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50.
