USQ is Master of Education (Adult, Professional and Workplace Learning) provides the opportunity for you to extend your expertise in facilitated learning outside of school settings. It is ideal for professionals who work in adult and workplace learning environments.
If you are not sure whether you would like to complete an entire Master is degree, apply to study USQ is Graduate Certificate of Education, Graduate Diploma of Education (Commonwealth Supported Place) or Graduate Diploma of Education (Full Fee Paying) and take the credit from your studies to the Master of Education if you decide to continue studying.
Develop research skills
A significant component of your studies will be research courses designed to expand your understanding of the role of education in society, and the challenges faced by educators in rapidly changing, multicultural communities. Choose between an Applied Research or Advanced Research project.
The Applied Research has a practical emphasis on innovative and creative approaches to solving current issues in the education environment. You can use your own experiences as a backdrop to your studies and develop a research project based on your current workplace.
The Advanced Research specialization will allow you to gain an in-depth understanding of your education interests. Using research methods, you will explore different approaches to contemporary education, and develop professional research skills essential to undertaking further learning. This specialization offers a research-based pathway into a PhD, subject to meeting all entry requirements.
The Master of Education (Adult, Professional and Workplace Learning) is ideal for education officers, development officers and workplace mentors in adult professional and workplace learning environments globally.
Which department am I in? Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts (BELA)
Students must have Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline or bachelor degree in non-relevant discipline plus a USQ graduate certificate or USQ graduate certificate. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.5 (or better)(no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based) - 570 (with a minimum Test of Written English score TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 230 (with an essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) - 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 58 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 58); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.
Pre-requisite: 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, from a recognized university
Approved bachelor degree, or equivalent, in education.
Candidates with a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a non-related discipline may be eligible for entry into USQ is Graduate Certificate of Education. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they may apply for entry into the Master of Education.
Other English Language requirements: TOEFL paper based score of 625 (with minimum test of written English score of 5); TOEFL electronic score of 263 (with an essay rating of at least 5); PTE academic score of 73 (with no communicative score lower than 73).
