What will I learn?
A Master of Education (Applied Linguistics) is ideal if you work with second language speakers and their communities, or in the fields of speech therapy and pathology, allied health, psychology or training in a variety of settings that requires skills in communication management and cross-cultural interaction.
Study flexibility

Develop research skills

The Applied Research has a practical emphasis on innovative and creative approaches to solving current issues in the education environment. You can use your own experiences as a backdrop to your studies and develop a research project based on your current workplace.
The Advanced Research specialization will allow you to gain an in-depth understanding of your education interests. Using research methods, you will explore different approaches to contemporary education, and develop professional research skills essential to undertaking further learning. This specialization offers a research-based pathway into a PhD, subject to meeting all entry requirements.
Career outcomes
Employment opportunities also exist abroad with multinational organizations that employ graduates with skills in international relations with second language users in the workplace. There is also demand among administrators and teachers in classrooms, in Indigenous communities and in the education and health sectors.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Students must have Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline or bachelor degree in non-relevant discipline plus a USQ graduate certificate or USQ graduate certificate. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.5 (or better)(no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based) - 570 (with a minimum Test of Written English score TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 230 (with an essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) - 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 58 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 58); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.

Entry Requirement For International Student

Pre-requisite: 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, from a recognized university
Approved bachelor degree, or equivalent, in education.
Candidates with a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a non-related discipline may be eligible for entry into USQ is Graduate Certificate of Education. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they may apply for entry into the Master of Education.
Other language requirement are the minimum score of TOEFL paper based test is 570, the minimum score of computer based test is 230, the minimum score of Pearson (PTE Academic) is 65 and the minimum score of Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.
