Why choose this course?
You will learn about aerodynamics, aircraft control systems, avionics navigation and communications, and specialise in the design of electronic systems for aircraft and satellite systems using systems engineering methodology. We are a major player in national avionics research and we have strong partnerships with government and industry. You'll be involved in research projects such as fixed-wing UAV and rotorcraft, aerospace vision systems; aircraft control systems and autopilot design.
Field trips provide you with a first-hand view of aerospace avionics, plus you'll interact and engage with engineers and researchers at QUT is Australian Research Centre for Aerospace Automation.
Our engineering courses, whether a single or double degree, now include honours-level content integrated throughout the course. A bachelor honours degree is a higher-level qualification than a bachelor degree, and along with the advanced knowledge and skills, it will benefit you in your professional career or future research and study. The duration of the degree remains unchanged: a single engineering honours degree is a four-year program, and a double degree is five years.

Applicants must have an aggregate score of 26-39. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) score of 64; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 58; Cambridge English : Proficiency (CPE) overall grade C1.
Students should have sound knowledge in these areas:
We assume that you have knowledge equivalent to four semesters at high school level (Years 11 and 12) with sound achievement (4, SA). Recommended study: Chemistry, Maths C and Physics.
English Language requirements:
TOEFL Minimum score of 573, including Test of Written English of 5.0 or better
PTE Academic 64, with no score less than 58 for postgraduate standard entry courses
University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced] Pre-2015: A score between 58 - 66 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test
Post-2015: An overall score of 176, with no individual band less than 169
