What will I learn?
An ideal qualification for those who've been away from formal education for several years, this course will prepare you for studying in an Australian tertiary institution. Our supportive teachers will help you expand your reading, writing and numeracy skills; teach you fundamental computer skills; and help build your confidence. Learn how to plan, research and present academic arguments in writing and speeches; develop time management and problem solving skills; and gain useful exam strategies. You'll graduate with the confidence to tackle tertiary assessments with ease and a clear knowledge of expectations.
To achieve the qualification 10397NAT Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation, students must complete three (3) core units and six (6) elective units.

In many cases, completing one of our diplomas will give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities. That means cutting down the amount of time you need to complete your degree, or even enrolling straight into the second year of your university course.

Open entry. You will take part in an assessment process to measure your current skill level. This will involve having an informal chat with a course advisor so we can make sure that you are placed at the right level. For Level 2, if English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of English language proficiency.
Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.
Students should be a minimum of 18 years of age.
English Language Requirements:
They must satisfy the following requirements such as 5.5 on IELTS with no individual score less than 5.0; Successful completion of 12 weeks TAFE Queensland English Language Program (TQELP) with results certified to course entry level; TOEFL: 69 (internet based test), 530 (paper based test), 197 (computer based test); ISLPR: 2+ on 4 skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking; First Cambridge Certificate of English, C Grade Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English; Successful completion of a vocational course of Australian Qualifications Framework Level 3 or higher, in which the medium of instruction is English; Sound achievement, or equivalent, Year 12 Board English in an Australian School; Successful completion on TQELP English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
