What will I learn?
Tune in and transform your ebullient love of music into a toe-tapping career. Our Certificate IV in Music Industry (Performance) will teach you about performance, musicianship, contemporary and commercial music, and music technology, composing and business skills. You'll learn the fundamentals and decide where you can specialize. Perform your way to a music qualification: If you have music performance ability, but little or no theory or music notation knowledge, then our Certificate IV in Music Industry (Performance stream) is for you.
Course outcomes
You will have one-to-one tuition on your instrument/voice, perform contemporary and commercial music in bands, and learn music fundamentals (theory, aural, reading, keyboard). Push your own boundaries by singing in a vocal ensemble, learn music technology, and develop networking/business skills. We encourage you to network with other musicians and students in other areas of music industry, and to immerse yourself within the vibrant Melbourne music scene.
Pathways to further study
You can continue your studies with our CUA50815 Diploma of Music Industry (Performance) and go onto our CUA60515 Advanced Diploma of Music Industry (Performance). You may even consider our HEASSAPM Bachelor of Music, or HECABSMP Bachelor of Songwriting and Music Production

Students must have the following:
Academic: Australian Year 11 equivalency
English: Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0, Pearson PTE Academic 42 overall with no individual communicative skill below 36, or recognized equivalency.
