Want to understand the events that have shaped our world? The Bachelor of Social Science (Social Science and History) gives you the chance to piece together information from the past and apply it to current events and issues through critical thinking and real-world application. You will examine world civilizations, historic and contemporary Australia, race relations in Australian history, European and American history and the 20th century. Through this study you will discover the stories behind some of the greatest and most significant events the world has seen.
This degree will encourage you to examine the political, psychological, cultural and environmental issues that affected society in the past, and how they can influence the choices we now make for modern society.
Career outcomes
This degree will prepare you for a range of careers including librarianship, museum consultancy, archival work, media, journalism, public service and (with further study) teaching.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
