What will I learn?
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Marine Biology) provides you with a broad understanding of the biology of marine organisms, their relationships with the physico-chemical marine environment, and their potential responses to changes.
It also provides you with the ability to acquire extensive knowledge in marine biodiversity, ecology, genetics, conservation, fisheries and related areas, and build transferable skills.
Marine biology is the study of the living world in the sea, from the simple molecules that support life to the complex interactions between populations of many species.
The Commonwealth and State governments, water authorities, local councils, business, industry, environmental groups, consultancy firms and universities all employ marine biologists.
Graduates from marine biology programs at Flinders have found jobs in:
Marine policy and planning in government (local, state and Commonwealth)
Marine and coastal Environmental groups and consultancies.
Industry sectors such as aquaculture, fisheries and marine-based tourism.
University and Government funded marine research institutions (incl. SARDI Aquatic Sciences, as well as local, interstate and international Universities).

Applicants must have completed a secondary schooling for direct entry. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing; TOEFL Paper 550 Overall 4.5 TWE; TOEFL (Internet): 72 Overall with 18 Speaking, 18 Writing; Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) with a grade of B2.
