Courses Overview

What will I learn?
The Graduate Diploma in Health Administration is a 36-unit program offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
The course is designed to enhance the competencies of health and aged care managers by building on their current workplace experience and promoting the application of management theories to existing problems. This is accomplished by utilising the expertise of our teaching staff (who are also experienced managers) and of health and aged care leaders in both the public and private sectors who lecture in the program.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
apply knowledge of management methods to their practice in managing people and resources
use critical analysis and available evidence to address problems and opportunities in health and aged care policy and practice
negotiate ethical and practice dilemmas and apply their skills and knowledge to achieving better outcomes for communities, clients and staff
provide leadership within their work roles, and enhance their careers.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Applicants must have equivalent of a three-year Australian bachelors degree. Some degrees may require work experience to meet the entry requirements. A reference or statement from the employer will be required. Special requirements apply to the four-year Doctor of Medicine. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic): 7.0 Overall with 7.0 Speaking, 7.0 Writing; 7.0 Reading, 7.0 Listening; TOEFL Paper 600 Overall 5.0 TWE; TOEFL (Internet): 96 Overall with 24 Speaking, 24 Writing, 24 Reading; 24 Listening; Pearson PTE Academic: 65 Overall with 65 Speaking, 65 Writing, 65 Reading; 65 Listening; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) with a grade of C.


Entry Requirement For International Student

Applicants must have normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have not less than two years professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of the degree or equivalent qualification or hold the Graduate Certificate in Health Administration or equivalent from Flinders University. However, the Faculty Board may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
English Language Requirements
They must also satisfy the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing; TOEFL Paper 550 Overall 4.5 TWE; TOEFL (Internet): 72 Overall with 18 Speaking, 18 Writing; Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) with a grade of B2.
