CF59 - Bachelor of Science (Psychology)

Courses Overview

What will I learn?
The Bachelor of Science (Psychology) equips you with a range of theoretical perspectives and is designed to enhance your knowledge in the discipline of psychology.
In order to be eligible to apply for provisional registration as a psychologist you are required to complete a four year psychology degree or equivalent. The Bachelor of Science (Psychology) allows you to complete the equivalent of the first three years of this requirement.
Students completing the Bachelor of Science (Psychology) will be eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours).
If you have completed a degree in another field you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning, in which case you will only be required to complete a number of core psychology units - shortening the time it will take you to complete this unit.
During your education and training you will have the opportunity to enhance your research skills and focus on the various methodologies and statistical techniques adopted by researchers already within the profession.
At CQUniversity our staff provides you with a high quality learning experience through the use of innovative and technologically advanced teaching strategies.
Program Structure
You are required to complete a total of 24 units including 12 core psychology units and 12 elective units. If you have previously completed a Bachelor's degree, you will only be required to complete the 12 core psychology units.
Career Opportunities
Completion of the Bachelor of Science (Psychology) prepares you for further study, such as the Graduate Diploma of Psychology or Bachelor of Arts (Honours), should you wish to apply for provisional registration as a psychologist.
