What will I learn?

This course is offered on a full fee paying basis to eligible domestic students. Fees are established per unit and can be found in the unit descriptions within the course schedule. Visual communication designers of the future will need to possess extensive expertise and a clear, incisive quality of thinking that will enable them to meet evolving cultural and social networks. As new technologies are continually developed, designers play a key role in their adoption, application and dissemination; there are no limits to the number of fields to which designers contribute. The course equips students with a range of core research and technical skills and adaptive creative approaches to prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in this rapidly evolving field.
Course objectives
The aim of the Graduate Certificate in Visual Communication is to offer Graphic Designers a postgraduate professional practice award that directly relates to the contemporary workplace circumstances of the Design industry.
Career outcomes for graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Visual Communication include specializations in graphic design, electronic/multimedia design, print media, packaging design, product design, computer games, advertising, illustration design, and aspects of film, television, music and theatre design.
The Graduate Certificate in Visual Communication program objectives are to:

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

PhDs normally require the equivalent to an Australian bachelor is degree with upper second class Honours or higher. English language requirements: IELTS of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language) - 92 (26 in writing and speaking, and 20 for reading and listening); PTE Academic 58 (58 for writing and speaking with no other score lower than 50); UTAS Access Level 7 English Language Training - 65 (65 for writing and 65 for speaking and no other test score less than 60); CAE (Cambridge Advanced English) - B (Equivalent to the Council of Europe level (CEFR) of C1 or above).


Entry Requirement For International Student

To qualify for admission, applicants must demonstrate the potential to successfully undertake the Graduate Certificate in Visual Communication. A personal or telephone interview may be required. Successful applicants will be expected to have completed an undergraduate degree in visual communication or visual art, or in a cognate discipline, with credit or above results in their final year of major.
They must also satisfy the following English language requirements: TOEFL (PBT) 550 TWE 4.5; PTE Academic 50 with no score lower than 42; UTAS Access - English Level 6 - 60 per cent (no individual score less than 55 per cent); Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English) - B Grade; Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) - C Grade; Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) Higher - C Grade.
