Arboriculture is your first choice if tree maintenance and sustainability are important to you. Work outdoors and climb trees for a living. You will learn how to safely access trees and carry out pruning, maintenance and tree removal works. Identify trees and assess their health, suitability and longevity. The Certificate III in Arboriculture is designed to train you in the most up to date techniques available to this trade, using highly specialized equipment that meets industry best practice and legislative standards.

Our qualified and industry-experienced teachers will guide you through your studies with professionalism and current knowledge. You will have access to all the right gear and exceptional facilities. The industry body is the VTIO - Victorian Tree Industry Organization. The VTIO covers a broad range of disciplines within the industry including ongoing training.
Incorporated with a trade certificate, this nationally recognized qualification will allow you to gain employment as a qualified Arborist in the tree maintenance industry. This could be with local government or tree maintenance contractors who often service government authorities as well as the private sector.
There is currently a high demand for industry professionals within Australia and overseas.
Assessment is based on your ability to achieve unit outcomes. Assessment methods include demonstration of skills, tests and assignments. At the commencement of each unit, you will be given an outline of what is to be covered in that unit and how the unit will be assessed.
Pathways to further study
Take your skillset even further by going on to the Diploma of Arboriculture or branch out into other streams of horticulture, including the Diploma of Applied Horticultural Science.
Become an Arborist and work anywhere in the country. Spend your days in botanical gardens and large parks or pursue contract and consultancy roles, such as an urban planning specialist or timber analyst.

All applicants must have a pass in relevant Foundation or Pre-U programme or equivalent qualification.

Academic: Australian Year 11 equivalency
English: Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0, Pearson PTE Academic 42 overall with no individual communicative skill below 36, or recognised equivalency
