The industry body is the VTIO - Victorian Tree Industry Organization. The VTIO covers a broad range of disciplines within the industry including ongoing training.
Employment outcomes
On successful completion of this course you will be a qualified Arborist. This course is specifically targeted at those interested in tree assessment and sustainability. Career opportunities can vary from researching urban development benefits to risk assessment for councils.
A competency based course assessment is built on your ability to achieve unit outcomes. Methods of assessment include demonstration of skills, tests and assignments, folios, oral activities and third party reports. At the commencement of each unit you will be given an outline of what is to be covered in that unit and how the unit will be assessed.
Pathways to further study
The Diploma of Arboriculture may lead to further study including degrees in science and horticulture.
Career Pathways
Become an Arborist and work anywhere in the country. Spend your days in botanical gardens and large parks or pursue contract and consultancy roles, such as an urban planning specialist or timber analyst.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Students are expected to have completed a level 3 foundation programme or equivalent and have IELTS 5.5 and Students who have completed a higher national diploma or foundation degree will be able to join the second or third year of a BA Honours degree course if they have IELTS 6.0 (with no component less than 5.5) or equivalent.

Entry Requirement For International Student

Students must have the following:
Academic: Australian Year 11 equivalency
English: Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0, Pearson PTE Academic 42 overall with no individual communicative skill below 36, or recognised equivalency
