What will I learn?
In your first year you will undertake a range of coursework units to gain knowledge and skills in the foundation and applications of GIScience.
In your second year you will learn to effectively conduct and manage research before completing your own significant research project. Upon graduation, you are eligible for membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Surveying and Spatial Science Institute (SSSI). This course offers the flexibility and convenience of studying on-campus, fully online or both.

Applicants must have a recognized bachelor degree in engineering or applied science with honours or equivalent. If you graduated with a bachelor degree in engineering or applied science without honours, but with relevant experience, you may be accepted at the discretion of the course coordinator. English language requirements: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176; and Pearson Test of English Academic: 60. IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System): Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening: 6.0; Overall band score: 6.5; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): 79 Overall; Reading 13 Listening 13 Speaking 18 Writing 21.
You must have a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution in applied science, cartography, engineering, geographic information science or surveying, or in a relevant field such as agricultural or biological science, environmental science, geography or planning.
You should also have a background in mathematics and statistics equivalent to first-year university level. International students may need to substitute a communication unit for one of the specialist optional units, subject to an English communication diagnostic test.
Additional requirements
You must achieve an average of at least 60% across your first eight units to progress in this course.
