What will I learn?
If you have an interest in health care and information technology, health information management (HIM) may be the right career choice for you. HIM professionals are experts in managing patient health information and medical records, administering computer information systems, and coding the diagnoses and procedures for healthcare services provided to patients. Graduates of our Health Information Management programs are eligible to register for the national Registered Health Information Administrators (RHIA) credential examination offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management program is offered on campus or as an online option.

Entry Requirement From Vietnam

Students who have studied at a foreign secondary school or university or require a visa to study in the U.S. Other English language requirements: a minimum 550 on TOEFL (paper-based); or 54 on Pearson PTE with 47 (listening), 56 (writing), 51 (reading), 53 (speaking).


Entry Requirement For International Student

High School graduates who have never attended another college or university must submit evidence of graduation from an accredited high school or submit passing scores on the General Educational Development (GED) test. Successfully complete or have in progress the following high school courses in preparation for first-year courses at UIC: English (4 years), Mathematics (3-4 years (including algebra, geometry, advanced algebra/trigonometry)), Science (3 years), Social Science (3 years), Foreign Language (2 years).
English Language Requirements: They must have obtained TOEFL with a score of 550 on (paper-based) or an IELTS with a score of subsection minimum as follows: listening 6, writing 6, reading 6, and speaking 6 or an PTE with a score of 54 (with subsection minimum as follows: listening 47, writing 56, reading 51, and speaking 53).
