An undergraduate program can cost you from $AUD15,000 to $AUD33,000 per year and postgraduate tuition fees range from $AUD20,000 to $AUD37,000 annually. Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) courses start at around $AUD4000 while fees for foundation studies start from $AUD15,000 per year. Planning to take up an English language course? These courses start from only $AUD300 per week depending on the course length.

Australian courses are often shorter than alternatives in other countries, particularly in the US. Most Australian bachelor degree courses can be completed in three years and even less if the education provider works on a trimester system. This means that you can save a whole year's tuition fees if you choose to study in Australian rather than in the US or the UK.

Entry requirements

English language requirements
There is a minimum level of English language skills that are required to study at TAFE Queensland for international students who do not speak English as their first language, which are as follows:
Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Overall 5.5 (with no score lower than 5.0)
Undergraduate programmes
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Overall 6.5 (with no score lower than 6.0)
Many programmes and some passport nationalities may require higher IELTS (Academic) than the minimum of IELTS 5.5 and/or include specific sub-score requirements.
Applicants are required to meet at least one of the English language entry requirements listed in the equivalencies table.

Key dates
Statement of purpose
Students must prepare their certified supporting documents.
Students must submit their application and supporting documents through the online application portal, or if they are from any of these countries. they must submit their application through one of TAFE Queensland is registered agents.
Once students receive their letter of offer, they must accept and pay for their offer. They must note the expiry date for acceptance.
Students must receive their Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE - required for visa lodgement).
They must then apply for their visa. International student visa applicants under the age of 18 will only be accepted where they demonstrate that they will be accompanied by a parent, legal custodian or a suitable relative who is aged 21 or over.


TAFE Queensland is one of Australia's largest education providers, offering over 180 courses in 15 areas of study - ranging from hospitality to healthcare. Courses are practical, coincide with current industry practice, and are taught by experienced teachers who have had experience in their field of work. The institution teaches over 120,000 students domestically and internationally each year, their international students come from more than 90 different countries around the world. 
TAFE Queensland has over 50 campus locations in the regions of Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba and others, giving students plenty of choice when it comes to deciding where to study.
The students also benefit from plenty of state-of-the-art practical learning facilities related to their course at TAFE Queensland. These include fully-operating restaurants, childcare centres, engineering workshops, beauty salons, automotive workshops, construction sites, sports centres, Apple Mac computer labs and the use of Adobe software.
A wide range of support is available for students at TAFE Queensland, including help for those with a disability, a confidential counselling service and learning support. The International Student Support Office is at hand too, to ensure that students have a smooth transition and settle in quickly when they arrive in Australia.
TAFE Queensland ensures that students are ready for work during and after their studies, and provides connections to services offering careers advice, assistance with writing CVs and cover letters, interview skills practice and help with looking for work experience and jobs.
Across the TAFE Queensland campuses, students are encouraged to get involved with extra-curricular activities so that they have plenty of opportunities to meet new people and get settled. These include sports competitions, group day trips and end of term parties.

TAFE Queensland covers many regions that stretch from the far north to the south-east corner of the state. Its locations in coastal, regional and metropolitan areas mean students can choose the location that suits them.
At TAFE Queensland, students will gain hands-on experience in modern classrooms, laboratories and workshops using state-of-the-art facilities, materials and systems used in industry.
There are over 180 courses across 15 study areas for students to choose from.
Its courses are assessed in various ways. Throughout their course, students may complete a variety of tasks including class work, assignments, practical components and project work. They may be assessed using a combination of these tasks, continuous assessment and examinations. Assessment may be based on competency, marks and grades, or a combination of both.

Teaching quality

At TAFE Queensland, practical, job-focused training is at the core of everything. Its programmes are designed in consultation with employers to ensure they align with the latest industry standards and its students graduate job-ready.
Its qualifications are recognised across Australia and respected worldwide. It offers a broad range of study options across certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, associate degree and bachelor degree level qualifications.
Training is offered through a variety of modes. Most courses are delivered through face-to-face teaching with lessons held in modern classrooms, laboratories and workshops.

Its programmes are taught by experienced teachers, who are passionate about sharing their industry knowledge with the next generation of professionals.
The teaching style at TAFE Queensland may be different to what students are familiar with. Interaction between students, their peers, and teaching staff is encouraged and the relationship between student and teacher may be more informal than they are used to. For example, it's acceptable and even encouraged for students to raise their hand and interrupt their teacher to ask a question. Students may also be asked to do group work or give a presentation in class.

Aviation Australia is a partner to over 60 airlines and aerospace companies, governments, defence forces and regulatory authorities, with over 1,000 graduates working worldwide. 
Aviation Australia is Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering training is approved and recognised by both the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for the purposes of aircraft maintenance engineer licensing.
