| International Student Experience Survey Results 2021 |
ENZ released the International Student Experience Survey 2021 in December last year. The NielsenIQ survey canvassed 4,536 students in New Zealand and 282 students studying offshore with a New Zealand provider. The survey aims to better understand the overall experience of international students, what is being done well and what can be improved.
Headline results
- International students say their experience of education in Aotearoa New Zealand has been generally positive despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. 85% of those studying in New Zealand this year rated their overall experience as positive, with 81% likely to recommend New Zealand as a study destination.
- The top five factors in students’ decisions to study in New Zealand were: the right to work in New Zealand once their studies were complete, our welcoming and inclusive society, our reputation as a safe country, our natural environment and the international recognition of New Zealand qualifications.
